What is YouTube?

Do we really know what YouTube is? Let’s find out.

There are so many similar applications available in the world, which are somewhat similar to YouTube, such as

  • Vimeo
  • Crackle
  • MX Player
  • Metacafe
  • Dailymotion
  • VLC
  • Twitch
  • Veoh
  • The Internet Archive
  • The Open Video Project
  • Netflix can also be considered

All these are doing is allowing us to watch the video what we wanted to watch and this is what I call “illusion”.If we talk about high level, that’s what we understand about these Video Streaming Application or sources.

What’s hidden is that these are actually mind games and just not the Video players. They first attract you by the videos of your choice and keep you all eyes and ears with them.

Once they realize that you are totally in them, they start showing you what they want you to watch as per their Artificial Intelligence knowledge about you. Nothing shocking because we are so used to about all these, that we don’t even realize it.

While watching their videos, they engage your eyes, hands, ears and your brain. Reaching to your brain is little tricky one but they are so smart that it is getting easier for them to get you totally in or hypnotized.

That’s how they are able to give fame to those whom they want to and that’s how they defame those whom they want to be defamed. It’s become game where everyone is happy who is watching, who is uploading and who is earning.

Yes, the interesting part is earning. Now a days YouTube has stringent conditions for one to earn still there are people around the globe who are earning a lot from YouTube.

On the other hand, this is a good source of learning as well. Those who cannot afford costly trainings, can switch to YouTube and see its magic to make you master of the masters.

There are people even made YouTube as their career. They used to develop good quality videos and upload it here.

Once their channel gets monetized, they start getting dollars for their videos along with adding advertisement.

To conclude, let YouTube help you in all the ways you want it to be instead to be a victim of wrong information, because the video you are watching might be free but the cost of your time is priceless and no one can repay you.

Consider yourself to be the most important person on earth, take care of your eyes and don’t allow others to play with it. Watch what you need to watch and not others want you to watch.

Sun-setting of Google + services

Today, someone told me that Google may close its Google + services soon. As a human we are born with curiosity nature, so the question was how to authenticate this news? The irony is, that I decided to check on Google about this. This is because we are so used to about Google, that when it comes to search anything, we right away ask from Google about it.

During search I found various versions of this news, the only thing common in all the pages, that YES it is going to shut down for all the consumers. Mostly the Album, photos, Google + pages, blogs will be affected by this.

As per https://smallbiztrends.com/2019/02/google-plus-shutting-down.html The Google+ API bug affected the accounts of 52.5 million Google Plus users, therefore this decision came into picture. On Google’s official Keyword blog, David Thacker, Vice President of Product Management for G Suite, explained the decision. Thacker said, “With the discovery of this new bug, we have decided to expedite the shut-down of all Google+ APIs; this will occur within the next 90 days. In addition, we have also decided to accelerate the sun-setting of consumer Google+ from August 2019 to April 2019.”

Good part is that your Google account, which is linked to services such as Gmail, YouTube and Maps, will continue to work, but your Google+ account, which was only used for the social network, will be deleted.

Since every coin has two faces, this decision too has, if we think a bit, we’ll realize that yes, the security is a big concern now and breaching it, may be a costly affair. You might have heard about “Google slapped with $5 billion fine for Android tactics”.

On the other hand, Google’s data centers have some running cost associated with it. If everyone will continue to utilize Google services for free, how will they be able to make profits. Well you may say that there are ads and paid campaigns etc, which helps Google to earn, I am fine with that, but have you ever thought, that what you are giving Google in return of using it’s services for free?

Think about Google speech recognition system or Google assistance, think about Google Lances, think about Google Maps, think about Google AI, think about Gmail, Think about YouTube, Think about TPUs performance, Think about Google Weather widgets, Think about your Android phones, Think about IOT, rather think about everything which you have used knowingly or unknowingly, you will surely learn that you were not using it’s services for free instead you are the one who made it what Google is today.

Local Guide

We are visiting so many places regularly, these visits can be personal or professional. In the past, we used to ask people who are either living at that place or had been there before, while we were planning to visit the new place.

Google Local Guide

I think for more than 5 years now, we are using the maps to get the right directions and to know more about the new places. Have we ever thought, how Google, Nokia, Apple knows about all these places and guide us? May be some of us will say, that they are using satellites and getting all the directions and pictures, well yes, I don’t deny that, but who is writing reviews and giving ratings? I am sure those are not satellites. Those must be human being. 🙂

As per Google, these humans are called Local Guides, who are uploading the images, videos and sharing the reviews about the places. In other words, the Local Guides are actually those who are along with Google helping us to reach to the place and know about the place, which is new to us or we may want to know about that place.

These Local Guides in other words are helping the Google AI to be smarter and helpful for everyone who is going to use the Google map or seeking the reviews and directions. And once we reach to the desired place, we can also share our views over the Google map along with ratings to help others to take right decision. By doing this, we’ll be also a part of the Google Helping Team.

Google entering in Medical arena

Google has recently took another step towards making their AI smarter and quicker. It is not only performing the action quickly but wisely as well. Like most of us has already noticed during our Video search and audio search, which Google has implemented last year, some of us are so used to about the auto suggested replies in our mail by AI that we haven’t even realized it. Take an example of Google Lens. AI is boon for all of us.

Google has upgraded the TPU, which gives way more speedy response. From this July on wards, every one of us will realize the smarter way of writing / responding emails via Gmail. All the current medical apps and software should start thinking about the improvement as Google has entered in this arena to save precious time of doctors and patients.

The Google assistance will now be available in six different voices and there are chances, while you ask some task to be performed by Google assistance, it may make a telephone call on your behalf to book your reservation / appointment and update you with the status.

This is the time to be a part of this Sci-Fi world. Better to buckle up and get ready!!

Google Lens

Google Lens

A much needed app by Google has been recently released, called “Google Lens”. It is basically designed to bringing up relevant information using visual analysis, which means it is another form of system intelligence to allow us to know more about the new place and things etc.

Most of the time, while visiting to new places we used to go through many changes, such as time zone, environment, language and culture etc.  This includes many challenges as well, like what to eat, how to room around and identify the places. Here either we look for someone to guide us or the signal strength in our smart phone. J

Google has initially helped us a lot to solve these basic problems by allowing us to use their various free apps. Some mostly used are Google assistance, Google map and Android O/S. As per Google, now a day’s people are spending 1 billion hours every day on YouTube, every day users are navigating the Google maps for around 1 billion kilometers and now the Google Android has crossed 2 billion active devices in the world.

So get back to our transit duration, these apps assist us a lot to make every moment easier and memorable. On the same line, Google is now presenting the Google Lens, which will be a boon for everyone to help them pulling the information about the places and things what they are looking for.
