Determined employees are actually an asset to the employers, they are efficient, trustworthy, connected, understanding etc, however that doesn’t qualify them to make faults.
In my opinion as a leader or giude we should keep an eye of these faults to avoid them becoming a desister
Question is how do we do that because if we start micro management and keep on scolding them then it will impact the quality of output and rate of attrition may increase, this will impact the brand name in the market.
So to answer this, I believe we should keep discussing such faults with them in a positive and healthier way. This will help them improving their confidence over your leadership along with making them more attentive and sincere towards there actions.

I would like to help you understand the two types of managers, basically good and bad manager. Why am I doing so, because if you understand the root cause, it will be easier for you deal with the situation and you’ll become more confident while dealing with such managers.
Managers are the one who are having huge pressure from the
top management and clients. Their course of action to tackle client issues and
management pressure make them good or bad. Let see how;
Most common and everyone’s favorite topic “bad managers”.
Reasons for a manager to be consider as bad manager;
I am a Manager and I am not supposed to do
anything.
Not trusting the team members
Not sharing complete knowledge to the team
No transparency
Micro management (refer to my blog)
Nano management (refer to my blog)
Becoming bottle neck for all the activities
Single handling client communication
No segregation of duties
Overlooking the team’s personal growth
Not ready to accept his / her fault or lack of
subject knowledge
Always worried about, if he misses anything
Putting team in front of the management during
issues
Taking all the credit to themselves in case of
success
Why all the above happen because of two reasons;
Comfort zone
Threat of losing position or job
On the other hand, due to “cost cutting” ghost, many
companies are putting extra pressure over their managers to hire low CTC team
members, get them trained and increase the output. Due to which such managers
putting whole team on the fire line and they themselves sometimes find
appeasement is the only path to save their position.
Now there is another type of managers and those are
sometimes called good manager.
They make sure their team members are well
trained
Assure proper personal and professional life
balance of the team member
Plan and maintain proper learning curve for each
team member
Keep on working with the team members to find
out simplest and quickest way to tackle any situation
Keep an eye to their team members but not
micro-managing them
Instead of waiting for appraisal meeting, they
keep on giving feedback as and when required based on the right situation and
time
They are making themselves always available for
their team members
For them their team is the priority
Stand in front of the team as a shield in case
of any escalation
Give credit to the team members in case of
success
Now what makes these managers to do all above. Well there
are again two reasons;
They always want healthy environment in the
office and out of office
They don’t want their company’s brand name to be
defamed due to attritions or client escalations
General perception is that an applicant is the one who is bearing the cost of being interviewed and get hired to any organization. The applicant think that he/she is the one who spent money to reach to the interview venue, spent time, while waiting to get interviewed and remain patient during the interview session. Once the applicant through from all the processes and get rejected, he/she thinks that this is the interviewer who had rejected him/her otherwise they were capable enough to handle the challenges.
Being an applicant many of us will agreed with the rejected applicant’s thought. Some of us might think that they are better than this applicant until they get rejected by the interviewer and few will say, why have they called us if they don’t want to hire us?
Before we go further, let’s see what a third person’s
thought over this situation;
Are companies or organizations are doing these interviews just for the sack of fun or they really want to hire someone?
Are companies having so much of free time to play hiring game?
Do they deliberately reject candidates?
They don’t want to hire a candidate until the reject many?
They don’t want to pay
They have ample amount of time
Now let’s see the other picture from the organization
prospective. Organization want the hiring process should be as follows;
Applicant
applied for the opportunity in a company
HR
shortlists the application
HR
inquires about the shortlisted candidate
HR finds Green data
HR schedules the interview
In case HR finds Black data
HR will continue with other applications
Selected candidates deployed to the resource
pool.
Are the organizations spending money on these interviews?
Let’s take an example;
Suppose,
Saatpro Group has vacancy of 15 Java developers, for its collaborating company C9Software
pvt. Ltd.
HR
has posted the vacancy’s information to various job portals and received 458 applications
for this position.
Company
HR has shortlisted 57 candidates for the interview
As per the process, total 4
rounds of interviews will be conducted for this position;
HR
round (25 minutes) – Cost Rs.200
Technical
round (35 minutes) – Cost Rs.800
Manager
round (15 minutes) – Cost Rs.1000
Salary
negotiation (25 minutes) – Cost Rs.200
Total
time and cost spend over one selected candidate will be approx. 100 minutes which
costs approx. Rs.2200
Total
cost over 15 candidates – Rs.33000
Training
cost– Rs.10,00,000
Approx.
cost spent over remaining 42 applicants – Rs. 60,000
Company
will spend from Rs.1000 to Rs. 10,000 for every 15 selected candidates for the
BGC followed by spending 10 to 20 more working days. Total cost – Rs.1,50,000
In case of Black BGC, company will be losing precious time, money and opportunity as the whole process takes almost 2 months to get it completed.
Imagine if the hiring organization gets the right candidate in first interview itself, well in that case an organization will save this expenditure and convert it into profit.
To conclude;
Organizations want to get the right candidate in
the first slot
Interviewers are there to select the right
candidate but not to reject
Interview sessions are not free for organizations;
they had pay a hefty cost of it
Most of the time, a person who is between 15 to 40 years of age, considered as young person. If the same person doesn’t behave well or not take right decision, then the same person is called immature.
If a person who is between 41 to 55 years of age says that he is young, people sometimes not ready to digest it, at the same time if he is active and great in looks, some of us agrees with him
What about those who eventually cross 56 years’ line? Well they are simply become a part of senior citizen. However even crossing 60 or 70 years of age, there are so many examples who are still active and doing what they love to do and achieving, what they want to achieve or what they haven’t achieve so far, even when they were young.
For example: Debbie Harry, Grandma Moses, Harland Sanders, Harriette Thompson, Jacinto Bonilla, Johanna Quaas, Nola Ochs, Fred Mack, Khushwant Singh, Amitabh Bacchan, Fauja Singh, Judi Dench and on and on. The list is long with such people across the globe.
There are many career, where seniors are considered more reliable, such as doctors, lawyers, business man etc.
Mr. Henry Ford once said,
“Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young.”
I think if your heart is young then age are just the
numbers! Do you agree?
504, Gateway Timeout can occur to any website or web application, no matter how giant that application or site be.
Recently I came across the same experience with Quora, where people are continuously searching, posting, responding from all over the globe and is expected to be available 24×7.
Now what is this 504 error anyway, which is getting so famous as the web applications are growing. If we search over any search engine, let say Google then we’ll get the below definition or similar to this one;
“The 504 Gateway Timeout error is an HTTP status code that means that one server did not receive a timely response from another server that it was accessing while attempting to load the web page or fill another request by the browser.”
Many of us now a days educated enough either by the experience or by learning books that we know what is 504 error, I mean common thing right, but think about those who don’t understand these numbers, how can we explain them?
I think in a lay man term we can say it’s kind of Relay Race, where one participant has to wait for his counterpart to give him baton / flag then only he can complete the race. In case of the counterpart doesn’t reach to him, mean time up, race up there will be 504 error.
Otherwise if I make someone who doesn’t know computer much to understand how server works, how they communicate with each may create a 504 error on my face when there will connection break between my mind and face. There may be 404, 400, 405, 403, 406 and at the end, there will be 503.
To conclude, there are so many dependencies, so many teams,
lots of resources which are behind the scene working for us to help us what we
want to see or what we want to get. Saying Quora is not working well might not
be correct in such scenario, the glitch and outage can happen, what matters
that how soon that gets corrected or rectified.
Interesting heading, isn’t it? You got right where I am going.
Being from the IT world, it is a very common and well known scenario for me. Clients has their own assumptions and knowledge, based on that, they used to plan for the budget. Post deciding the budget sometimes clients do research a bit more however once they make up their mind and finalize the budget, it is hard to get it changed.
Lets talk the other side of the coin.
As soon as the client interact the vendor or the service provider about the requirement, the marketing technique, greed and brand name comes first in picture then other things, such as security, optimization, duration etc.
So during the requirement gathering, vendor helps their client by providing various of options, be it less or more useful for client. Till this stage all the conversation goes happily and both parties respond, talk to each other frequently until the cost presented to the client.
Dramatic factor suddenly makes the client to ignore the marketing team member of the vendor or if the budget matches with client’s budget then suddenly time crunch comes in picture, which forces the marketing team to complete the project ASAP.
In both the cases the pressure further passes to the developers or workers, their incentives, salary hike, working hours etc. for them if the project allocated to them then load of work and if the project doesn’t allocate then loosing job issue.
Getting back to the point Requirement and Budget, in some
cases smart client used to exploit the vendor and in some cases vendors and
their marketing team play smartly with the vendor.
Apart from all that, most of the time the vendors are actually providing right suggestions to the client and not ready to compromise the quality or brand name of themselves.
Only in this scenario, when both gets on the same page the
desirable and quality results are achievable.
LinkedIn suspending some accounts, as per them there must be
some suspicious activities happen with these accounts.
Recently I came to know from one of post by Sir Oleg
Vishnepolsky that his LinkedIn account got suspended by the LinkedIn. After some
effort and escalation LinkedIn has enabled it.
As per LinkedIn they don’t offer temporary disabling the profile
and if this happen then also the user can edit his / her profile and get it
working.
Basically these are the five points which may cause this;
An unusually large number of page views from the
account.
The name used in the account profile is in violation
of our User Agreement.
We’ve detected inappropriate or illegal activity
on the account.
A history of repetitive abusive behavior on the
account.
We’ve detected that the account may have been
hacked or compromised.
I understand and agree with all four of them but the 1st
point
I am wondering, is being famous can be an issue to get to be
blocked by the networking site? I see people are earning money by making videos
to get more traffic to your blog, videos, sites etc, whereas LinkedIn is demotivating
those who get large number of page views. If the personality is famous then
this is expected, so why there is suspension of the account? Doesn’t LinkedIn
have robust servers to handle this much of load or they think that everyone is
running a script to view that account’s page?
Well whatever will be the reason, all I know that if this
happens intentionally by the LinkedIn then if possible they should share the
RCA with the account holder and steps to get it fixed, if this happens with
same account few more times, then obviously LinkedIn has to take step towards
securing others data, their servers etc. by suspending that account for long or
permanently.
April is having its own significance compare to rest of the 11 months. December and January are having their importance for being at the end or at the beginning of the year, whereas April nether starts the year nor ends the year. On the other hand, it almost does the same. Think about the new budget year and April first will knock your head. So yes in that manner April does starts a year.
Let’s see why April moth is so unique.
All of us know about its 1st date and most of us know
it as a Fool’s day. If we talk about the history, then it was started when April
then was second month of the Roman Calendar was moved two steps down to fourth
step and January promoted to 1st month of the year. This change
might have made the start of this month as fool’s day.
If we talk about the financial year, then those who are
happy with the new budget makes fun of those who are not happy or vice versa.
Today the e-commerce is in boom, so every day and every
moment considered to be converted in the form of business and earning, so do
this day as well. There are various applications and accessories floating
around to get most of it from this day.
The April 1st is also known for many other
reasons, such as;
In 1918, the British Royal Air Force was founded (RAF)
In 1970, federal law was created for the Public Health Cigarette Smoking Act in the United States. It was designed to control the practice of smoking along with banning the cigarette advertisements on American radio and television.
Even the Nature also changes as April starts, but it is not
making us fool though.
Due to financial year changes in India, the April 1st
is also a bank holiday this year.
